She was born on November 6, 1905. She studied at the College of Philosophy and Literature. She attended the Fine Arts Accademy in Santiago, Chile, and, in Buenos Aires, becomes a disciple of Vicente Puig and of Juan del Prete, whom she married.
In 1935 she exhibited at Amigos del Arte and then presented her abstractions, relieves and non-figurative paintings at Gallería Müller. Leaning towards an abstract vocabulary, her poetics combined the orthogonal structure with surfaces sensitized through textures and matter.
In 1945 she began to make relieves and constructive objects in celotex, a soft material that allows her an easy modeling. Since 1946 she worked simultaneously on abstract pieces and figurative paintings.
She took part of the Salón de Nuevas Realidades in 1948 and 1949, of the Non-Figurative Art Salon from 1958 to 1960 and of the São Paulo Biennial in 1957, among others.
In 1964, at the Witcomb gallery, she showed collages she had performed in Italy using burned matches and packaging papers. At Galería Van Riel she exhibited diverse series: the Ciudades de Italia (Cities of Italy) collages (1965), those composing Antiguo testamento (Old Testament, 1966), those in tarred paper under the title of El jardín del Edén (The Garden of Eden, 1967), the photomontages Turistas en Italia (Tourists in Italy, 1967), and she made an exhibition of her non-figurative works performed between 1937 an 1963.
She won prizes at the Salón Viña del Mar, Chile, in 1934 and 1936; at the Salón Centenario de Valparaíso, also Chile, in 1937; at the Salón de Acuarelistas in 1940 and 1950, and at the International Exposition in 1958, among others. She took part in the Argentines’ Show in Rio do Janeiro (1958) and in 50 Años de pintura argentina 1930/1980, (50 years of Argentine painting) held at the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino, in Rosario, Argentina.
Yente died on November 28, 1990, at age 85.
